Largest U.S. Colleges by Undergraduate Enrollment

Size shapes everything from class availability to campus life. This ranking lists U.S. colleges by fall undergraduate enrollment, and includes both traditional campuses and large online universities that enroll students nationwide.

We ranked 2,326 main campuses and show the 50 with the most undergraduates. Southern New Hampshire University ranks first. The 50th school still enrolls 31,939 undergraduates, while the median across all schools is 1,983. Texas has the most entries with 11. The median net price across all schools is $16,847.

Enrollment counts every undergraduate, including part-time and online students, so large totals do not always mean a large campus. A handful of online universities enroll tens of thousands of students. Compare graduation rates and earnings to see how these big institutions perform.

Big universities offer many majors and resources, but also large classes and more complex systems to navigate. Open a profile to see student-to-faculty ratio, programs and what graduates earn.
